Paul Mykoniatis
Having already completed my first year at university, I can safely say that the 14 years I spent at Byron College have cultivated and equipped me academically, personally as well as socially for my life ahead. This strong foundation also made the switch to an American university far smoother than I had anticipated, placing me ahead most other fellow students.
I am especially grateful to all the teachers for continuously standing by us and going far beyond what was expected from them in order to help us. They were able to inspire us both through what they taught as well as through who they are as people. They taught us the importance and fulfillment of learning how to learn and that hard work is the best road to success.
If there is a word that best describes Byron it would be the word "family". This was the word I used in one of my university application essays. "While being the proud brother of two younger sisters," I wrote, "I am also an older brother to a family of 250 children from all over the world."
I will always be thankful for the unique contribution each teacher and student within this family has made to my life.
