In year 10 and 11, the core PE curriculum is designed to:
- Develop independence and responsibility – students will be given more choice about the activities they engage in within each topic area. Students will also be challenged to form their own equal teams and experience roles as coaches, captains or managers.
- Encourage lifelong participation – students will take part in sports/activities which are easy to access once they leave school, to ensure that students have the knowledge and confidence to remain active in their adult lives.
- Maintain health and wellbeing – students will learn how exercise can maintain and improve mental and physical wellbeing.
