Key Skills and Content●     Researching and recording the topic of ‘Fold & Drapery’ through key historic and contemporary artworks ●        Using photography and sketching to collect new source material from off-school sites●        Oral presentations on chosen artists for Personal Study
●     Working with light, form, texture and negative space to develop a paper sculpture inspired by Anthony Caro●        Using observational and experimental drawing to develop ideas for own topic●        Using feedback to enhance critical thinking and use of terminology for the Personal Study
●     Developing drawing skills from direct observation●        Focusing on developing a series of developmental studies to aid exploration and criticality●        Developing and refining a series of artworks choosing own media suitable to topic and technical skills
●     Using continuous line drawings to record shape, form and rhythm ●        Drafting a mind-map to aid thematic and contextual focus●        Critically reviewing and refining artworks with an emphasis on presentation and display
●     Applying the AOs to critically review portfolio development ●        Exploring 3D media to work with shape, form and negative space●        Participating in end-of-year art critiques to critically review and assess own and others’ portfolio using AOs
●     Using fabrics and soft materials to develop a fabric wall relief inspired by John Chamberlaine●        Using sculpture as source for 2D artwork aiding cross-disciplinary work●        Planning tasks for collecting source material over the summer
●     Using various photographical angles to record artwork and expand photography skills●        Using painting media to develop colour, tone, hue, texture and brush-mark style●        Installing and curating the annual art exhibition as practice for presentation and display
●     Using digital image editing apps to enhance development●        Using diverse media to develop mixed-media artworks (collage, found surfaces etc)
●     Using painting media to transition to abstraction and explore colour, tone, texture and brush-mark style●        Developing and refining a series of artworks choosing own media suitable to topic and technical skills
●     Participating in art critiques to critically review and refine artwork and portfolio ●        Using AOs to critically review own and others’ portfolio development
●     Researching other artists’ work as transition to independent projects●        Researching others artists’ work to inform own practice and topic
●        Personal Study (essay) workshop; Research and paragraph structure
All student work will be assessed holistically against the following Assessment Objectives. Students must therefore:
Summative1)      Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding (AO1)
Assessment2)      Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops (AO2)
3)      Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress (AO3)
4)      Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements (AO4).
